Hoping to get some good nude beach time.Did you get the email I sent you Thursday?

All of Orient Beach north of Club O is topless. Some of the hotels are as well. I know the Alamanda is topless at its pool, but not nude. It is right on the beach. There used to be a narrow sand access road between It and the beach, but I believe Irma eliminated it. May be back by now as there must be access to the Southern part of the beach (Club O).

Originally posted by amxgilligan What is your opinion of Mont Vernon which is on North Orient Beach. I see there a lot of places available to stay that are pretty reasonable. Some love Mt. Vernon, some don't. We have never stayed there, so I can't tell you. If you are a mountain goat, you will probably love it.

We've stayed at Mt.Vernon several times and love it. It's definitely not a resort at all. And you will do a lot of uphill walking. Long walks to the parking lot too. If you require any extras at all, do not stay at Mt.Vernon--although individual owners may provide some things--that's between you and them. It's super basic. You'll have to go grocery shopping unless you eat out every meal or hire Jeanie to shop for you.
There was a beautiful pool there, but it won't be ready for quite a while. It took a long time to get the pool finished before. There's a little store there and a pizza place that is one of our favorites. You can walk to Club O beach, but if you cringe at the idea of going into Mountain Goat Mode at Mt.Vernon, then you likely won't want to make that walk down the beach. Parking is free now and only a few minutes drive.
We love staying at Mt. Vernon though. We've stayed at other resort areas on SXM but prefer to stay on the french side and experience more local flavor. Mt. Vernon is home to st.martiners.
St.Martin is really wonderful. It'd be hard for us to not enjoy ourselves no matter where we stay. Especially, when you consider Club O beach--there's just no place like it.
Here's a photo of our view at Mt.Vernon. Sunrise Christmas 2016. The other images are the grounds at Mt.Vernon. Have a wonderful trip!

Try contacting Bruno Lemoine, owner of O Paradis (Paradise Bungalows) - only 4 units - they are located on the hill above LaPlantation, which is on the road down to Orient Village - love this place - very reasonable prices - units are one bedroom with a kitchen, bathroom, lovely covered porch - we also love the clothing optional use of the swimming pool (provided none of the other vacationers object - we have never had an issue being nude) - Bruno is the former owner of La Cottage in Grand Case, Dreams in Nettle Bay, Yellow Sub, Petite Casino & the bakery next door in Orient Village - he is also the owner of LaPlaya. We have been vacationing in SXM since 2004 & almost always stay with Bruno.

Originally posted by amxgilligan I see there are two bungalows. Are they nice ? They are much more affordable. Just wondering what is different about them. Thanks for the help.BernandGary may not be back this way for weeks (or they may be back tomorrow). I know therm from past trips to St. Martin and know that if they recommend an accommodation, it will be a good place to stay. As things are getting tight, I would contact Bruno to see if a bungalow is still available.
Not sure exactly where it is, but probably not within walking distance from the Village.

There are a total of 4 bungalows - two are one bedroom & two have a second bed in an upstairs loft. They are located on the hill right about LaPlantation - when you come in the guard entrance to Orient, you take the first road to the right. Someone younger & more fit than us could probably walk to the village, cutting thru LaPlantation, but we always drive. Check with Bruno for availability - he & Geraldine are fantastic hosts - they live on the property as well - if you have more than one couple, they also have a house on the property that you can rent.

I am now staying a few days at Haul over Beach it has nude people but just not the atmosphere of OB.
I am afraid that if something does not get started soon, all their followers will find other places to go.
I contacted Cypress Gardens about renting a room for a week , They never answered 2 emails or. A letter asking for a brochure
