Watching Irma

My wife and I are watching closely too. Not specifically because of an impending trip, but because we met some wonderful people on our last trip who live on the island and we are praying they and everyone else stay safe. We are still hoping for the best scenario of this thing getting steered north and out into open seas.
Plus we live in Florida so we always keep an eye of these storms. Hope it doesn't impact your anniversary trip.

I can only hope! We live in Florida, about an hour south of Tampa, so I knew when we booked it would be iffy. Just keeping an eye on it and hoping the storm avoids the island all together not to mention the states because it would really be sad if we could land on the island but the planes are grounded out of Sarasota and/or Atlanta.

Heard this morning that several airlines are booking exit flights from St. Martin to try and get those who would be otherwise stranded, off the island. And yes, the eye appears to come right on in to the waterfront chalets. They may withstand the onslaught, but I imagine the new buildings that opened last year (next to Pedro's) will be whacked.
I just checked the beach cam at the Perch and it is inoperable. Maybe it has already been whacked?
