We got to the island yesterday. We rented a car from Kennys Car Rental. He was right there waiting for us. The whole process with the rental went very smooth and we were out in no time. His prices are competitive. We stopped at the large supermarket on the dutch side to pick up a few things and off to Club O. It had been 9 months since our last visit but it seemed like forver ago! The weather is beautiful 85 sunny with a breese. Club o is only about 30% booked so its quiet. We did eat at Papagayos for dinner and some live music after. The food was wonderful. Today was have already walked the beach and are now heading for a relexing day just beaching and swimming.

Yesterday was a beautiful day on Orient beach! We both needed to just lay low so we spent the entire day Swimming, sunning and walking the beach. We started the day with a walk of the full beach. Its a good 2-3 mile walk back and forth. We then plopped ourselves in our chairs. That's one good thing about staying at club O is that the chairs and umbrella are included as if not its a 20.00 a day charge. The temp was about 85 and breezy. We stayed until the Tiko Tiko came back from their day of cruising watched the people get off. They all had smiles and seemed like they had a goo day. We then headed back to our unit. The unit we had requested was close to the beach so during the day its a very easy walk back if you need something. We had bought some cheese and crackers they day before at the grocery store so we set up our lounge chairs a glass of wine, a bottle of beer, cheese, crackers our laptop playing island music and had our own happy hour. We then took a walk down the beach. It was getting dark and the beach bars were starting to jam. The bikini beach bar and a fire on the beach and the music was playing. We walked to the back of the beach bar to a Cul De Sac were there is allot of little restaurants. We wanted a pizza as we have found out that Pizza on St martin is wonderful!. We ate our Pizza at Safari Grill. That was our first time there and the pizza was excellent. We were going to stop at the beach bar on the way back but we both were stuffed. We walked back on the beach. We felt very safe as alot of the beach bars were open. We got back and headed to bed as a full day of sun makes you tired. Will check in tomorrow.

We are having a great time. Weather is beautiful. No complaints! On Tuesday we did the Phillpsbug thing and did some shopping. We ate at an Italian resturant in Grand Case for dinner. I think it was called Le Neptune, ( it was ok but a bit pricy for what else we could have picked from in Grand case. We are going back before we leave to a place that looks real cool called Calmo's. Its right on the beach. You can put your feet right in the sand.
If your looking for a very romantic resturant Wednesday night we ate a Sol e Luna and we had lobster bisque with a pastry crust for our appetizer, a scallop and shrimp dish with a rvery creamy black risotto. For dessart we shared vanilla ice cream with strawberries, whipped cream and a raspberry sauce. It was very pricy but well worth a special night out.
On Thursday morning we visited a local artist who's name is Ruby Bute. She is living on the french side of the island. She has painted all her life and has a studio in Friar's Bay. She spent 2 hours with us, telling us stories, showing us her painting and giving us a tour of her new place. We ended up buying two of her prints.
We went into Maho tonight for some fun with some new friends we met at the perch bar to have dinner at Cheri's. We then stopped at Casino Royale, We won enought for a nice dinner tomorrow night.
Having a relaxing fun time at Club O. Keep you posted of our last couple days.

Took our beach walk. Walked the entire Orient Beach first thing. I think its about a 3 mile walk back and forth. Spent the day at the beach. Water was great. Weather was perfect. Of course ,its paridise. Went to Baywatch for the famous mussels a la Andy and wow they were fantastic! The sauce was homemade and out of this world! Spend the happy hour at the Perch with some new friends enjoying Carib and BMC's. Later after a full day of sun we heaaded for Grand Case. We had heard of a place there that you got to see a perfect sunset. Calmos was the name of the resturant. You sit with your feet in the sand and watch one of the prettiest sunsets I ever seen. The food was great also. Perfect end to a perfect day.

Well its our last morning in paridise. Took a walk down the whole lenght of the beach early. Ate a pastry and drank some coffee and now its time to pack. One more dip in the water a shower and off we go until next year.

Thanks for reading about our trip this year.

One of the best things that I like to do in St Martin is my morning beach walk up and down Orient. It is so peaceful and quiet in the morning there.

From the Perch webcam it looks like that the beach is pretty empty this time of year. Sounds like you had great weather for your trip.
