October Trip
August 02 2021 15:55

Just made reservations for a week in October and have a general question. Has anyone be down lately with information about Covid testing. We have rented a private apartment on Orient Beach. I know we have to have a negative test to go down. But I have heard you have to be tested on the return trip also, is there any place in Orient Village that do these test.

Orient Beach Hotel arranged for a nurse to come to our room and test before departure. We had to test when we got to French side when we arrived there because their time requirements are different from the Dutch. We didn't know that. No big deal, though.

We are stay on Orient Beach, so your saying even after being cleared at the airport with all the requirements we do ahead of time, We still need another test when we get to our apartment. We are renting a private apartment.

We had rt-PCR test done 120 hours before arriving, which was ok with Dutch side. French wants a negative test result 48 hours prior. Had we done that we would have been good for both sides. So just get a test within the 48 hour window and you'll be good.

Thanks, are there any testing sights in Orient Village? On another topic, is the guy still at the Club Orient beach to rent chairs for the day, if so how much. Is the Perch bar open.

Just wondering about this issue, When I complete the St. Martin entry paper work for covid testing, how long does it take to get the ok to enter the country.

We both had our EHAS approvals within an hour. I understand the anxiety, but it was worth it.

Thanks, where did you get your test for the return flight home? Is the airport doing them?

Just returned last week after spending 2 great week on the island. Stayed at the Dawn Beach Club Hotel and Casino not open yet. They serve breakfast, lunch everyday and dinner Thursday to Sunday. When at OB we rented chairs from Pedro's guy same price as Orient $20 and I understand he will give you a rate for the week. Went to the Sun Pharmacy in Marigot got the test for the return there for $40 had the results in about 20 Minutes. Even though the paperwork was in French talked to a business man who travels back and forth to the states he said the only thing the airlines look at is your name and the word Negative. We had no problem returning just long lines with AA.

We got a return test done at mediwork for $70.00 each. We decided the convenience of an early appointment was worth it---no lines to wait in. It took less that 15 minutes for both of us and we got results very quickly, we had just finished ordering breakfast at Zee Best when we got the results in email. We scheduled our appointment on Wednesday morning for a Saturday afternoon departure according to the CDC timeline--within 3 calendar days before the day of departure. This worked out but there was a little conversation at return check-in because the timing didn't fit a 72 hour window, at first delta didn't want to accept it, but the CDC says nothing about 72 hours so we we're approved. I suggest booking the mediwork test online even before you leave the US, just plan on taking it a day or two before departure date for not hassle at the airport.

Also, the Perch food is great. We ate there four times.

Confused about the test going down, I'm looking into the testing, do they accept the rapid test which takes 20 minutes for the results or the rt-PCR which takes 24hrs, which one did anybody use when filling out the form. Are both ok?

EHAS website has all the information you'll need for the Dutch side (airport etc...) but the. French side has slightly different rules. We had a nurse come to our room at Orient Beach Hotel when we were leaving.
