Everyone who loves St. Martin should know that it's mostly back and very nice. At Orient Beach there are three completely rebuilt restaurants, Bikini, Kakao, and Kon Tiki (where Waikiki used to be). Club Orient is still a shambles, but the beach is open with chairs and umbrellas and some food trucks. Simpson Bay is in great shape, Grand Case is coming back with some new restaurants. Lot's of new stuff in Marigot and Hope Estate. Porto Cupecoy was untouched. The airport is still being rebuilt but very functional. Sunset Beach Bar is bigger and better than ever. At Pinel Island Karibuni is back and the new Yellow Beach is fantastic. Friar’s Bay Beach Club (FBBC) is excellent. Anse Marcel Beach restaurant is probably the best restaurant on the island (lunch only). The only area that is still in bad shape, but rebuilding, is Oyster Pond. We were just there for 3 weeks and had a great time. Best restaurants: Orient Baie Plaza: Le Piment, Le Atelier (new), Cote Plages, Grand Case: Le Cottage, Bistrot Caraibes, Simpson Bay: Zee Best (breakfast / lunch).
