Place to stay in May on Orient Beach

Hi folks,
My wife is looking for a place for us to stay in early May, and was looking at So Chic Villas. Has anyone stayed there since Irma who could give us a review? Any other places close to Club O that are reasonable and feel secure that you might recommend?

There are many places in and around the Village, which is close to Club O.
I have linked below to an existing thread on where to stay in February. There should be some good ideas in that thread.
Thank you, Christa. She is looking at VRBO. We had reservations at La Playa, but they delayed their reopening until July. I’m sure that recovering from Irma has been a tremendous task.

We are renting from a lady named Delphine on VRBO, that has studio rentals right over the Good Morning bakery complex, right along side La Playa's parking lot. She gets great reviews and has been pleasant to deal with through communications so far.

Thanks for the information. We are really looking forward to our trip. It has been too long. We plan to see nice people we met at Club O on our last trip. Truly a unique place and experience.

Islander, we have been going the 1st week in April the last couple of years and have seen the same people each time. Its a good time chatting with them in the Pearch happy hour line. I wonder if they will be back this year as we missed last year. We are really looking forward to being there also. Hope you have great trip!

Are there restroom facilities near the Perch Lite? We'll be there first of May and staying at Esmeralda...so that's a long walk

Yes, there is one next to the Perch. Ask at the Perch for the key, if it is still kept locked.

Christa, We are always a few days off. We found a two bedroom, two bath with pool, walking distance to Orient Village. We just can’t let go. We went back in November and have too many friends from our travels to SXM to ever give it up. Each trip we meet more. carib cheers my friends. doctorj

When I read this, I knew the name Delphine sounded familiar, but I couldn't quite place it. Just now I was going through and deleting some old texts and found what I had been missing. She is friends with the woman we rent from, Isabelle. They cover for each other when one is out of the country. We met Delphine last year as we were checking out.
Where you are staying is the best area of the beach, other than Club O, but, unfortunately, that is no longer available. Doubt that it will ever be available again.

Christa, i believe i remember seeing the name Isabelle when i was searching VRBO. Where are her units located? We are also Cub O refugees and had reservations for April 2018. As far as the rebuild, i'm trying to be optimistic, but i don't see the problems being resolved anytime soon.

As far as I know, she only has one studio. It is located in the Plaza (across the street from the Village) above the real estate offices. It is just a little beyond the last roundabout before the Village.
