Club O Clean up

Reports on the travel talk website say that clean up of the Club O ruins has started and that the court has appointed an administrator for the Copropriété de la Baie Orientale. I guess any news is good news at this stage.

There is nothing new on the Rebuilding Club O website. I don't do facebook so I don't know if anything new is posted there.

Thanks for the update. It's a start. Let's see where they go from here.
Cedric has posted some pictures of the demolition on Facebook. Papagayo and four chalets are being taken down.

I couldn't tell much from the video (which is all I saw) about which chalets were being cleaned up. I imagine they are the Beachfront Chalets next to Papagayo. Sad, as we have stayed in all of them multiple times, except #46, which Is next to Papagayo. #46 was usually only rented in the high season because of its proximity to Papagayo and the noise at night.

One of the chalets (#47?) looked to be only about 30' from the water. That particular chalet used to be about 150' from the water. From that picture, showing the encroachment of the water, I imagine Papagayo was in the water.

It is good to see them finally start the cleanup. Six years too late for me, though.

I don't do facebook. Any chance someone could pull pictures from there and post them here. I just hope that it remains a nude beach. We are planning a trip in September. I feel all of us are hanging onto a thread, with regard to Club O. Miss that place so much .
From the pictures I saw, Papagayo was partially in the water.
Go to the traveltalkonline.com Saint Martin forum and they have a number of recent photos.
The link is below. Scroll down to "Club O Demolition." There are some photos there.
