Cycle Race September 2nd Road Closed

I am flying in tomorrow and am being told there is a cycle race closing the road from Grand Case to the French Quarter. I have rented a condo by Orient Village. Not sure where the French Quarter ends. If I come around the island from the East through Phillipsburg will I be able to get to Orient Village and avoid the road closure or am I screwed either way. Thanks!

no problem,go around that way.You might get a bit of traffic.FYI it only closes in the afternoon until 4.30 ish.

If I remember correctly the French Quarter is on the East side of the Island, where the Gendarmes station is located. Grand Case is on the Northwest side. Orient Village is on the Northeast side of the Island, in between the two locations. The main (and only) road accesses the three locations.

If you go through Phillipsburg for the eastern route, you will hit the French Quarter before you get to Orient Beach. If you go the western route (across the new bridge) from the airport, you will hit Grand Case before you get to Orient Beach. Best to travel after the road is reopened.
